The pay equity was an issue that thousands of Quebec women workers were crying for in the Quebec public sector. They have been vouching for the same since 2010. The case has been dragging for so long and it looks like there is some light at the end of the tunnel. There is a bit of positive news about pay equity for the women workers.

The Quebec government has decided to talk about the pay equity issue that the thousands of Quebec women workers have been urging the government for so long.

An elaborate and costly investigation process is underway to check out the pay equity maintenance done by the labor standards commission, the Commission for Standards, Equity and Occupational Health and Safety (CNESST).

The government has decided to make a move forward in this regard and will be sitting down to discuss the issue with the unions. The CNESST started the process of looking into the pay equity complains for over 5 years now. It has also cost the government millions.

This could be the reason why the Treasury Board has decided to have a talk with all the labor organizations to discuss the pay equity for the women workers in the public sector.
