Hungary, Budapest, Budapest – 08-01-2019 (PRDistribution.com) — The startup that helps you find outdoor adventures opens to a new European market, Slovenia
Trekhunt, the search engine for outdoor adventure tours, expands with 100 new activities in Slovenia. The new activities cover the most popular areas in Slovenia, such as Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj, Bovec and the Soca Valley and Triglav National Park. The outdoor lovers can now book rafting and canyoning tours, as well as kayaking, hydrospeeding or paragliding trips. This is a major move for Trekhunt on its mission to list all tours and activities around the globe. With this expansion, more than 80 destination countries and 20 different types of activities are listed on the website.
“Our long-term goal is to help people find the perfect outdoor adventure they are looking for. They shouldn’t spend hours to compare every individual offer.” – says Laszlo Kardos, founder and CEO of Trekhunt. “Slovenia was an obvious choice as our next destination market. It is an adventure paradise with many water sports, extreme sports and hiking opportunities. The country becomes more and more popular amongst European and Asian tourists as well. In 2018, foreign overnight stays increased by 15%.”
In the year 2018 Slovenian tourism marked record numbers. The number of international arrivals continued, and Slovenia was yet again above the European average. In 2018 Slovenia achieved 5,93 million tourist arrivals and 15,69 million overnight stays. This is 8% more arrivals and 10% more overnight stays than in 2017.
Due to the new collaborations, one can now book
- 100+ new organised tours or daily activities
- 15 new suppliers
- 12 activity types (e.g. rafting, kayaking, canyoning)
in Slovenia using Trekhunt.
“We are very glad that our new Slovenian partners put their trust in us. We would like to offer more and more adventures for our users. The next step for us is to enter new markets later this year to widen our selection for autumn and winter sports too.” – said Laszlo.
Trekhunt is on the mission to cover all the key alpine regions in Europe. The next area to come is Tyrol and its surroundings.
The explosive growth of the market for tours and activities explains the actuality of Trekhunt. The total amount spent on tours, activities, attractions and events is the third-largest segment of the travel market. According to Deloitte presented at the world summit of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), its value is estimated at 183 billion USD by 2020.2
